The importance of Certification.

As U.S. consumer trends shift toward health and wellness, demand for healthy foods continues to grow. Therefore, third-party certification seals have become essential in the US market. To realize the full potential of their products, local and foreign food manufacturers are encouraged to offer non-GMO and gluten-free products and obtain third-party testing and verification. Year after year, a growing percentage of U.S. consumers prefer Non-GMO and Gluten-Free products.

Non-GMO

Studies show that genetically modified foods may have harmful effects on the human body. Although the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) actively monitor the use of GMO's, they do not mandate the labeling of such foods. Therefore U.S. consumers take it upon themselves to seek out products that have been certified Non-GMO by an independent body.

Approximately 46% of American consumers actively avoid genetically modified foods, and 42% of those specifically look for products with the Non-GMO seal.

Gluten-Free

Celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, and wheat allergies are major concerns in the United States. Statistics show that 21 per 100,000 children have Celiac disease compared to 13 per 100,000 adults. While "gluten-free" is a voluntary claim, the FDA requires that such claims follow a non-misleading standard. As with non-GMO products, approximately 23% of Americans regularly shop for gluten-free products. Interestingly, 2 out of 3 prefer products with a gluten-free Certification on the label instead of reading the ingredients to make their own determination. Millennials are the most common group following a gluten-free diet, with 14% of them stating that they follow such a diet in the United States.

The global market for gluten-free foods is also on the rise. By 2032, it is projected to be valued at 14 billion U.S. dollars, more than double the market value in 2022.

Our gluten-free seal represents that a product meets FDA requirements under section 21 CFR 101.91 verifying that levels are below 20ppm.
